Handmade jewelry is jewelry which has been assembled and formed by hand rather than through the use of machines

Next 5 Day Classes starts Mar 5th-9th.
Next Wedding band workshop Mar 17&18th.

Art jewelry is created with a variety of materials, not just precious metals and gems. In the late 19th century, René Lalique revolutionized jewelry design through his emphasis on imagination and technical virtuosity over precious materials and the imitation of past styles. Additionally, he experimented with industrial techniques, plastic and glass. Art jewelry should be compared to expressions of art in other media such as glass, wood, plastics and clay. Art jewelry however has not yet created such a large following and is a relatively small niche, where jewelry is mostly bought by collectors and museums.

Hi there – I’m interested in joining one of your classes. Can you please let me know if you have any starting in February?
    Thanks,
    Natalie

Hello, I’m curious why the 5 day intensive is twice as expensive as the 6 week course if it is 1 day shorter? Are hours longer, also are we provided with more materials?

Also is there anywhere I can find an outline detailing the techniques taught in the course?

Thanks in advance, my girlfriend and I are looking for a great silversmithing/jewellery workshop!

    Hi,
I’d also like to see a course breakdown, and some examples of what previous students have made in this course.

    Thanks!

    Hi Julie,
We do a Band Ring of Sterling Silver in the first Evening, followed by a wax model of a ring or pendant on the second, which we then cast for you to be polished on the third evening.
We then intorduce the acid etching project 4th and roller printing 5th, and the bezel setting at the end.
A busy class! We try to expose our incoming students to a variety of methods.
    Very Satifying.
    Thanks for your interest,
    Robin
